• Billy Drake)Billy Drake Racing traveled to Kentucky Lake Speedway in Calvert City, KY over the weekend and competed in a Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series sanctioned event the "Kentucky 99". The 50-lap feature event paid $9,999 to the winner and valuable points towards the series national point's standings. Billy would finish 7th in his heat race after his engine began to falter in the last laps of the heat race. Billy would park the primary car with a hurt motor and unloaded a new Mastersbilt chassis for the B-main. Billy would shake down the new car and eventually pulled in to make some minor chassis adjustments before the feature. Billy would make the 24 car field by virtue of a series provisional starting position based on the current series national point's standings. Press Releases 5/8
• Lucas Oil)It's getting closer to Showtime as the Second Annual SuperClean "Diamond Nationals" are set to take place this weekend at the Lucas Oil Speedway in Wheatland, MO. • Brady Smith)The Brady Smith Racing team picked up their first win of the young 2008 racing season on Saturday night, May 3 at the Kentucky Lake Motor Speedway in Calvert City, Kentucky! Brady Smith was strong in qualifying and later won his heat race to earn a starting spot up front in the $10,000 to win '99 Extravaganza' main event. The Solon Springs, Wisconsin native then drove an excellent race around the 3/8-mile, high-banked speedplant and overtook race leader Darren Miller following a lap twenty restart. The 5th Annual Lucas Oil Knoxville Late Model Nationals Presented by SuperClean will be the richest in the history of the race. • ULMA)For the first time ever the ULMA took part in a race event at Sedalia’s State Fair Speedway. This special race was the annual Bob Ramey, Sr., Memorial, which is now in its third year of existence. Ramey’s son, Bob, has worked extremely hard over the last few years putting on this event and the ULMA drivers in attendance were all extremely grateful to have been given the chance to compete in this event. Although many of the ULMA drivers have storied histories at the track, several others had not competed on the big half mile in many years and some never at all. Press Releases 5/7
• Josh Richards)Josh Richards proved his adaptive abilities last Thursday night (May 1) when he made a head-turning DIRTcar big-block Modified debut at Virginia Motor Speedway. The 20-year-old dirt Late Model star known as ‘Kid Rocket’ finished only 19th in the 60-lap Advance Auto Parts Super DIRTcar Series ‘Paul Sawyer Memorial’ event, but his qualifying effort and early performance in the feature showed how quickly he was able to make the transition to the open-wheel machine. After finishing a dismal 11th in Saturday night’s 40-lap A-Main at Lebanon I-44 Speedway and appearing headed toward another placing outside the top 10 for more than half of Sunday’s 40-lapper at Monett, the star driver known as ‘Chubzilla’ suddenly came alive. • Carolina Clash)After just finishing a record $20,000 weekend the Carolina Clash Super Late Model Series is back at it again this weekend with another huge pair of events. • Duane Chamberlain)Duane Chamberlain and the Chamberlain Racing team had a great weekend of racing. Duane and the team headed off to Elkins, West Virginia for the IRS (Independent Racing Series) sanctioned event at the Elkins Motor Speedway. Duane started the evening off by winning the Cornett Racing Engines Heat #1. Starting off the A-main and battling fierce traffic all night long Duane was able to bring the #1 Chamberlain Chassis Late Model home with a 7th place finish in the main event. With this finish Duane has moved to third in the Rookie of the Year contention and is currently fifth in the season points Championship.

Twenty-Eight Super Late Model representing five states were on hand for the $2,000 to win event. After accumulating the most passing points in his heat race, Birch Tree, Missouri’s, Justin Asplin earned the JFR Graphics Pole Position for the feature event with Lakeland, Tennessee’s Dane Dacus flanked to his outside. • Carolina Clash)Randle Chupp made a clean sweep of the Carolina Clash weekend at Cleveland County Speedway. After scoring the $5,000 victory on Friday night the Troutman, NC resident backed up his flag to flag performance from the night before as he rolled to the $10,000 win in the '8th Annual Skyler Trull Memorial'.Race Results 5/6
• World of Outlaws)Brian Birkhofer still doesn’t have an official name for the new car he built with Jimmy and Chris Mars. But the Muscatine, Iowa, standout can certainly call the machine a winner after rolling to a flag-to-flag victory in Sunday night’s 40-lap World of Outlaws Late Model Series A-Main at Monett Speedway. • Crossville Raceway TN)The Southern Regional Racing Series Presented by PPM Racing Products, made a stop at Crossville Raceway USA on Friday night for "The Chris Sopha Memorial". • Marysville Raceway Park CA)A.J. Kirkpatrick tossed back several thrilling challenges to his lead and collected the $3000 first place check in the Western All Star feature. Kirkpatrick and the top 10 competitors endured a series of early race yellows before the racing got serious. The red flag was displayed during lap 3 when an incredible crash blocked the entrance to turn 1. Some of the impacts were tough ones and the video shows that fully ½ of the 22-car field was involved. Local Late Model racer Leroy Perry of Marysville seemed to get the worst of it as his car caromed off of a number of spinning racers.Race Results 4/28
• I-55 Raceway MO)A huge field of 132 racecars filled the pit area in I-55 Raceway's four divisions. Twenty-seven competitors entered the UMP DIRTcar Late Model division and it was Billy Faust of Lebanon, Illinois grabbing the win. After the pill draw for heat race starting spots, Faust found himself starting dead last in the first heat race. But Faust worked the traffic superbly and worked his way up to a third place finish in his heat. Race Results 4/28
• OSAS)After a pair of rain delays threatened to wash out yet another O'Reilly Southern All Star sanctioned event, Mother Nature finally granted enough of a window to complete the O'Reilly Auto Parts Cup Weekend Special at Talladega Short Track. Wendell Wallace of Batesville, AR was able to slip into the lead on the final lap while race long leader Tony Knowles was marred in heavy lap traffic. This is the first of a four race mini-series which will move on to May 21st at Cumberland, August 1st at Cumberland, and conclude the 9th of August back at Winchester. The tire rule for Saturday night will be Hoosier 1400/1600, Cumberland cars that run American Racers are required to run a 1600 Hoosier on the right rear, all night long.
