| Agan, Jon | Boyd and Lisa Burnham of Burnham Racing Enterprise (BRE) announce Jon Agan, from Knoxville, Iowa, will drive their No. 54 sprint car in 2009. Since beginning competition at Knoxville Raceway in 2000, Burnham Racing Enterprise has reached victory lane four times. In 2008, the team claimed one feature win and a top-five finish in the season-long point battle. Agan, 29, returned to sprint car racing in 2008 after two years away from the cockpit. In a limited schedule, Agan posted impressive results including numerous podium finishes, multiple heat race wins, two Hard Charger awards, and broke the Knoxville Raceway 10-lap track record for the 360 sprint car division. Agan finished 8th in the season-long point battle while only competing in 75 percent of the races held at Knoxville Raceway. “I am truly excited about joining Burnham Racing Enterprise,” said Agan. “We have already begun our preparation for the upcoming season, and our resources are strong. I look forward to piloting a top-notch sprint car and competing not only for wins but also a track championship.” BRE’s focus in 2009 will be competing for the Knoxville Raceway Championship Cup. Beef will be trying his hand at 305's this season since they are picking up in SE Iowa, running mainly at 34 Raceway and Knoxville, with some other local 305 shows as well. Bergman, out of Snohomish, Wash. will be piloting the long familiar blue No. 18 sprint car that fans around the Pacific Northwest have seen race for several years and fans across the rest of the country will get to know. Once on the road, the team will be keeping shop in the Knoxville, Iowa area. While Seth will be seeing virtually every single track on the schedule for the first time, he will have one of the country’s top 360 sprint car racers around to help guide him. The team will be running the full Sprint Invaders schedule plus MASS races and non wing events as scheduling allows. The 2008 success with a seventh in Invader points (211 points out of first) has him thinking top five in points for 2009 and as many feature wins as possible. Matt also received the Cornwell Tools Most Improved Driver Award for 2008. Matt’s MASS runs produced a heat race win and a run from ninth to third in a B main, and one top 10 finish competing with this winged 410 series with a 360 under the hood. Non wing 360 results included a top five feature finish and a tenth in Morgan County Speedway points, even though Matt was forced to miss two races. Danny will also make trips to Hagerstown Speedway on February 21 and Lincoln Speedway on February 28 to kick of the year with high hopes for his first two races. | Smith, Brian | In what has taken longer than anticipated Team CHR announces that Brian Smith will be returning to the seat of his Eagle in 2010 to run F.A.S.T. and possibly Attica and Fremont in 2010. | Strange, Billy Jr | At the end of the 2008, Billy Strange and the Strange Motorsports team developed a plan for the 2009 season. In short, they wanted to compete at Placerville Speedway for points and pick up any other races that fit in the budget for 2009. As tracks released their schedules, Billy looked at what made the most sense dollar wise and seat time. Strange Motorsports has released their 2009 schedule tentatively made up of 30 races. The season will start with Marysville Raceway Park's Open Show on March 7th and close at MRP on October 9th and 10th for another Open Show. The team will race at all Placerville point shows and the majority of the Civil War races as well. In the mix will also be some appearances at MRP point shows and of course the Pacific Sprint Fall Nationals at Silver Dollar Speedway in Chico, California.
