No. 71 has had its share of monumental moments over the years in
USAC NOS Energy Drink Midget National Championship racing.
Tuesday night’s Jason Leffler Memorial at Bakersfield Speedway
at Kevin Harvick’s Kern Raceway in California was no exception.
In 1997, Leffler was in the midst of achieving his first career
USAC National Midget driving title while wheeling the No. 71

PA Posse Sprint Cars)Central
Pennsylvania’s storied sprint car tradition is taking an
exciting new step forward. In a historic show of collaboration,
the region’s premier tracks — Williams Grove Speedway, Lincoln
Speedway, Port Royal Speedway along with eight other Central PA
tracks — have joined forces to create a new racing series for
the 2026 season, the PA Posse 410 Sprint Series. The new series
will feature 47 events across 11 tracks, including PA Speedweek.
Williams Grove Speedway and Lincoln Speedway will each host 10
races, while Port Royal Speedway Trackside Media will hold nine.
BAPS Motor Speedway and Selinsgrove Speedway & Raceway Park will
host four events apiece. Clinton County Speedway, Path Valley
Speedway, Bedford Speedway, and Bridgeport Speedway each appear
twice on the schedule, with Hagerstown Speedway and Grandview
Speedway Inc. hosting one event each.

visit to victory lane, Logan Seavey returned to the USAC NOS
Energy Drink Midget National Championship top step in a most
thrilling fashion during Saturday night’s inaugural Chase
Johnson Classic at California’s Merced Speedway. Seavey (Seavey,
California) started fifth on the grid and trailed for the
majority of the 30-lap feature. But with two laps remaining,
Seavey’s outside pass of racelong leader Jacob Denney proved to
be the winning move in what was his first victory of the USAC
National Midget season aboard his Abacus Racing/McVey Trucking –

Drink Midget National Championship racing at Merced Speedway has
been added to this weekend’s Golden State Invasion schedule on
Friday, November 21. The series will now compete at Merced,
California’s 1/4-mile, high-banked dirt oval with complete
programs on Friday along with the originally scheduled date on
Saturday night, November 22. The addition of another date at
Merced comes after the subtraction of Tulare’s Thunderbowl
Raceway from the schedule. This Friday’s Tulare event is
canceled due to saturated grounds following recent heavy
rainfall across the Central Valley.

Presented by Hoseheads finished out the 2025 year at BAPS Motor
Speedway Saturday November 15th. Brent Marks took the win for
his 3rd series win of the year. Chase Dietz was 2nd with Anthony
Macri 3rd. Danny Dietrich is the J&S Classics Central PA Sprint
Cars Presented by Hoseheads champion. Chase Dietz finished 2nd
with Anthony Macri in 3rd. The series held 86 total races with
it being possible for a driver to compete in 74 of them with
some nights having shows at two tracks. 103 drivers scored
points by finishing in the top ten in at least one of those
races. There were 31 different winners. Drivers
scoring points came from 16 states and three countries. The top
10 in points will all receive money and product certificates
from sponsors of the series.

California’s Plaza Park Raceway has been canceled due to
saturated grounds. Substantial rainfall in recent days at the
1/5-mile dirt oval has forced cancellation of the event, which
was to be the debut of USAC National Midget racing at the track.
The Plaza Park event will not be rescheduled.

taking the lead with five laps remaining en route to pocketing a
$20,000 payday would be cause for a joyous occasion, a jubilant
moment that would forever be one of the highlight moments of a
season, and perhaps, even a career. For Daison Pursley, Saturday
night’s USAC NOS Energy Drink Midget National Championship
Hangtown 100 victory at California’s Placerville Speedway was
anything but. On the 96th circuit of the 100-lap feature,
Pursley (Locust Grove, Oklahoma) took his shot at Kyle Larson
for the lead. However, as he dove low into turn one, Pursley
appeared to clip the berm on the inside of the track with his
left front tire. A split second later, Pursley was sliding up
the racetrack until his right rear tire had a direct meeting
