  • From The Grandstand)The recent change of ownership of NARC was something that it was just time to do. Jim Allen and Brent Kaeding were the winged 410 sprint car series owners and felt they had taken it as far as they could and it was time. And everyone was getting closer to old age. Allen summarized things when he said, “When the officlals got together it looked like an AARP meeting.” It was announced at the 2024 end of season banquet that the series would be sold within the next two years. Several people had conversations about taking over but none felt ready to assume the responsibility. Then someone came along at just the right time. September 29 Brad Sweet acquired the NARC series, later adding Kevin Rudeen as a partner in continuing the series that started in 1960. John Hager will be an important part of the new owners’ venture as he is the person who gets the stuff done behind the scene which is what Allen did for many years. Allen noted that, “Once all media is turned over I will have no day to day activity with NARC sprint cars.” He will be busy by writing a book that will encompass the history of NARC sprint car racing. by Ron Rodda 11/28
