I can’t thank the Tarlton family and Dennis & Roth enough for the opportunity. I don’t think I’ll get much sleep tonight after that one! I hope all you fans enjoyed that show tonight, because it sure was exciting.” Kyle Hirst winning hte Dave Bradway Jr Memorial at Chico CA

  • VSS)The forecast was for rain in the night hours so the promoter tried his best to get the races in by any way he could. Even with him rolling the dice starting the races one and a half hour early still wasn’t enough as we only made through half the events before the non-stop rains came. The remaining postponed feature will be added on May 14th when we will run twin twenty lap features the first being a makeup race. Tony Harris had taken the trophy dash earlier in the show. The next Virginia Sprint Series race will be the Twin 20s rain make up show at Shenandoah Speedway on Saturday night May 14 5/1

  • Davie Franek)No one has been hotter in the 2016 Untied Racing Club season than Davie "No Panic" Franek. On Saturday night at the annual running of the Jack Gunn Memorial race, Franek and crew looked to continue that hot streak. Franek and the Franek Auto Sales, Allamuchy Garage 28f timed 3rd out of 28 cars in the pit area. Franek then went on to finish 2nd in his heat race and was running inside the top 3 when he tangled with a lapped car on the 6th lap of the main event. Franek then climbed within the top 10, but a late race call sent him to a 13th place finish as the race was called on the 18th lap due to rain. Franek will now take his points lead south to the first state next weekend to the Delaware International Raceway. This will be the first of 2 visits to the 1/2 mile facility for the 2014 URC Champion. Franek and co will then head south again on May 13th to the Brett Deyo run Georgetown Speedway. • Curt Michael)Lady Luck wasn't on the side of the 5G GEI Enterprises, Valley Forge Inc of Curt Michael on Saturday night. Michael who time trialed 6th out of 28 cars finished his heat race in the 4th position after a long battle with the 33 of Mike Walter II. Michael who was below Walter on numerous occasions just couldn't complete the pass for the 3rs position. As a result of his 4th place finish, Michael started the 30 lap Jack Gunn Memorial in the 12th position. Michael who quickly advanced into the top 10 before the half was point of the race, saw his night take a turn when on lap 17 coming off of turn 4 had a right rear let go. Michael's crew quickly put a new right rear on, but unfortunately the skies opened up on lap 18th handing Michael a 21st place in the A-Main. Michael will now head to his home state and the Delaware International Raceway on Saturday night May 7th. Michael who has done very well at the 1st States 1/2 mile facility will look to park the 5g back in victory lane and continue his search for a 10th United Racing Club title. 5/1
  • Robbie Stillwaggon)The 89 Quality Auto Body of Robbie Stillwaggon continued his hot streak again on Saturday night at Selinsgrove Speedway. With 28 cars in the pits, Stillwaggon time trialed 1st with a 17.499 finished 3rd in the first heat race and started 3rd in the Jack Gunn Memorial main event. Stillwaggon gained valuable points on both Curt Michael (21st) and Davie Franek (13th) and continues to look like a true contender for the 2016 URC championship. Stillwaggon who started 3rd quickly stayed within the top 4 and striking distance of the top 3 cars all race. A lap 17 restart for relegated Stillwaggon to the 5th place finished as a slight slip up let Ryan Kissinger slide by and into the 4th position. Stillwaggon and crew will now venture to the first state next Saturday night to the Delaware International Speedway for the first of 2 visits to the big 1/2 mile facility. After Delmar the 89 time will again head down to Georgetown Speedway on Friday May 13th for the fist visit to the Brett Deyo run facility. 5/1

  • IRA Sprints)It was an exceptionally fast paced program that was witnessed by fans as the Bumper to Bumper IRA Outlaw Sprint Series presented their Wisconsin opener at Beaver Dam Raceway. The entire show ran relatively incident free with the final checkered flag waving at 9:15pm. The near perfect racing surface allowed drivers to showcase the horsepower of the 410 cubic inch fuel injected power plants. Of those mastering the high speed surface it was seven-time series champion Bill Balog who showcased an unmatchable pace in the later stages of the 30 A-main event. The result was Balog’s second consecutive win in the Jim Wipperfurth Memorial race, and his first trip to victory lane in IRA competition since last May at Sun Prairie. IRA 4/24
