  • FAST)The 2015 Fremont/Attica Sprint Title (F.A.S.T.) championship schedule is officially underway; launching a brand new season of competitive ‘410’ and ‘305’ sprint car racing in northwestern Ohio. The new year ignited with F.A.S.T. ‘305’ and ‘410’ competition at the Attica Raceway Park in Attica, Ohio. Dean Jacobs would go wire-to-wire at Attica Raceway Park during night #1 of the 2015 F.A.S.T. ‘410’ championship; leading all 30-laps of the main event to capture his eleventh career Attica win. Jacobs would hold off defending F.A.S.T. champion Byron Reed at the finish. After weighing several options for this weekend, Taylor Ferns is tentatively scheduled for a two-race weekend in two states at two very different tracks. As long as Mother Nature cooperates, she will compete for the first time with the Midwest Open Wheel Association (MOWA) on Friday at the semi-banked Tri-City Speedway in Illinois, before heading to Ohio on Saturday for an Ohio Valley Sprint Car Association (OVSCA) event at the high-banked Atomic Speedway. The date has been moved to Saturday night, June 20. This gives sprint car teams an opportunity for a double-header weekend as the tour is scheduled to compete atop the famed Kansas State Fairgrounds in Hutchinson, Kansas on Sunday night, June 21. An unfavorable weather forecast for both later this week and weekend has caused officials to adjust the race schedule as well as new dirt still taking up most of the back stretch pit area that is utilized by the big haulers. Heats started the night with Chris Ware and Ryan Price taking heat wins on a cool clear spring night. The Knoxville, Iowa driver took command on lap 18 and held off McCarl on a late restart. Johnson got the jump on pole-sitter Bryan Clauson to start the event, but McCarl, who started in row two, circled the lead pair to lead lap two.   • Lincoln Speedway PA)Saturday night’s 410 Sprint Spring Championship was Brian Montieth’s 46th career Lincoln win, but it may have been the most impressive of them all. Time trials and an inversion of four put Montieth on the pole for the 30-lap, $5,000-to-win championship event. By the time the first caution of the event came out for a spinning Kyle Moody in turn four of lap 18, there were eight lapped cars between Montieth and second-place Adam Wilt, and only 11 of the 24 starters were still on the lead lap.Central PA 4/5

  • The Central PA 358 Point Series presented by Capitol Renegade kicked off its 7th season Saturday night at Lincoln Speedway with Todd Rittenhouse Jr. picking up the season opening win. Rittenhouse would lead all 20 laps for his 4th career 358 feature win, and first win at Lincoln Speedway since 2010.   • World of Outlaws)It has been more than 20 years since the World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series last took on the high-banked, quarter-mile Placerville (Calif.) Speedway. The opportunity to bring the series back after all that time came at the hands of one Outlaws competitor, Brad Sweet, but it is another who brings a very special connection to the track. In 1987, Paul McMahan, an Elk Grove, California native, stepped into a 410 sprint car for the first time in his career. Not long after that first start, McMahan got his first 410 win.   • Must See Racing)Aaron Pierce won Friday night’s Must See Racing 25-lap qualifying race at Hickory Motor Speedway in Newton, NC. By virtue of his win, Pierce will start from the pole position in Saturday night’s 40-lap “Southern Showdown”. Must See Racing made it’s first-ever visit to the famed 3/8 mile Hickory Motor Speedway Friday night. Due to an array of last minute misfortunes among Must See Racing teams, the car count was less than had been expected. Friday’s qualifying race was none-the-less entertaining.Race Results 4/4
